Job Description

Job Title: Nurse Project Manager, Blue Distinction, Clinical Site Reviewer

Multi-faceted position for a nursing professional with clinical transplant experience who possesses an interest in quality care and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Focus on transplant facility site visits and clinical program survey (RFIs) review. Responsible for leading multiple Blue Distinction projects, services, and associated deliverables related to the Blue Distinction program.

Excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker and problem solver who is comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Functions as an information resource on Blue Distinction administrative and clinical procedures contributing to the assimilation of data and the development of value added resources for Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans. Also participates on smaller Blue Distinction project teams as a clinical resource.

Requirements  

Current active registered nurse license in at least one state
B.S. degree in nursing

5 years work experience with a minimum of 2 years as a registered nurse in a hospital setting transplant program

Knowledge and understanding of provider credentialing and quality improvement processes

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

 

Preferred Basic Qualifications

  • An understanding of managed care or health benefit plans, patient case management, or medical claims techniques.

  • Preferred bone marrow transplant experience

  • Technical knowledge of biostatistics and related analysis of patient outcome statistics

  • Good interpersonal skills and can interact effectively with co-workers, senior management, and customers

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and build consensus for business results.

  • Demonstrated ability to create strategies that support initiatives and translate these into action

  • Project management skills to execute projects and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to use negotiation as a tool to come to consensus.

  • Ability to lead complex processes with data driven outcomes and need for interpretation.

  • Organization and prioritization skills to identify critical issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a team member.
    Proficient analytical skills with the ability to analyze, interpret data, conduct analysis and translate in an understandable manner.
